KISM Membership Categories

Requirements

This class of membership is open to individuals with little or no practical experience in procurement and supply chain management but is pursuing academic or professional studies at accredited institutions. Upon completion of the course the student should qualify for full membership.
The following are requirements for full membership application:
o Create profile online
o Copies of the following documents certified by a commissioner of oaths:
• Academic and professional examination transcripts
• Form four certificate
• National identification card
• Passport size photograph
o Payment of Kshs 1,500 (a pro-forma invoice will be generated at the last section of your application)

Annual renewal:
o Payment is Kshs 1000.
o Paid via KISM pay bill number 552500
o Acc.number- Use proforma invoice reference number

This category of membership is for persons with experience in procurement and supply chain management, but lack professional certification. Hence this category of Membership is for those in practice but lack qualifications.
The following are requirements for Associate membership application:

o Create profile online
o Copies of the following documents certified by a commissioner of oaths:
• Academic and professional examination certificates
• Copy of the national identity card capturing both faces of the document, or a passport or valid work permit for non-Kenyans
• Passport size photograph
• Relevant testimonials
• CV
• Applicants are required to indicate the level of their professional experience and practical training. The employment record must be supported by a letter from the employer (including current employer) stating:
 Date of commencement and /or termination
 Nature and scope of duties
 Whether the employment was on a fulltime or part-time basis
o Payment of Kshs 4,500 (a pro-forma invoice will be generated at the last section of your application)Annual renewal:
o Payment is Kshs 4000.
o Paid via KISM pay bill number 552500
o Acc. number- Use proforma invoice reference number

Corporate Membership is open to companies, public bodies, parastatals, institutions and other organizations who share our ideals and goals in establishing professionally managed supply chains. The bodies are required to commit themselves and their employees to the KISM Code of Ethics.
Requirements

• Duly completed application form (forward the form to our membership email at membership@kism.or.ke or drop it at our offices at KISM Towers along Ngong Road.
• Subscription fee of Ksh. 25,000

This category of membership may be awarded to any member who has made significant contribution to the cause of the Institute or the profession. The title will read “Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management” (designatory letters FKISM).

Activation supports self-portal services such as renewals on membership, licenses, events & training, workshops, member profile and records update and CPD programs management.

The following is the procedure for member activation:
• Log onto the portal Membership Portal
• Click Activate Account.
• A password reset link will be sent to your email.
• Input your password and log into your account.

This membership category is awarded to a non-member who has rendered exceptional services to the Institute or the procurement and supplies management profession.

Please note that membership upgrade application is done online through our application portal member.kism.or.ke

Membership Upgrade Procedure
o Ensure you have activated your account through our online self-registration portal – member.kism.or.ke
o Log into your account.
o On My documents tab and proceed to upgrade.

The following are requirements for upgrade application;
o Create profile online
o CERTIFIED academic certificates by a lawyer/Commissioners for Oaths
o National ID/Passport
o Curriculum vitae(CV)
o Payment of Kshs 4,000.
